Brightstorm
I remember what one of my teachers once said, "Programmers are lazy readers." And I have to agree. While non-programmers appreciate explanations through text, we programmers rather want everything to have a graphical or animated representation.
But I have also observed that bloggers and even students feel the same way. Both of which mentioned are the "professions" I am right now.
Sometimes, it is better to understand something that is on video, most especially ones that require a whole lot of imagination. That is why I appreciate this one education site that recognizes such fact, Brightstorm.
Brightstorm is an educational website that specializes in online video lessons for high school students. The high school subject or courses are taught by chosen teachers from US and some other parts of the world. The courses include Geometry, SAT writing, Algebra 2, AP US History, SAT Math, AP US Government, SAT Critical Reading, Writing and US History.
If you want to experience the services of the website, you have to sign up for a free account. I did that, and I was able to witness some of the videos available.
The way of teaching is really great because it was very straight to the point. Plus, the videos does not look boring at all, which is something high school students really appreciate.
